Darren C. Shelton was elected to the position of Circuit Court Clerk on August, 5th 2010. Mr. Shelton is very honored to be elected to this position and will serve Unicoi County to the best of his ability.

Office Duties:

The Unicoi County Circuit Court Clerk is located on the second floor of the courthouse and maintains records and administers the following courts.

• CRIMINAL COURT - felony convictions
• CIRCUIT COURT - divorce records, child support, adoptions, conservatorships, worker's compensation suits, etc.
• GENERAL SESSIONS COURT - traffic tickets, misdemeanor charges, small claims court, orders of protection, detainer warrants
• PROBATE COURT - small estate affidavits, administration of will, name changes
• JUVENILE COURT - any judicial proceedings involving a child under the age of 18
• Passports - passport applications are accepted  on Wednesday and Friday 10:30am until 3:00pm
