About the County Clerk

The County Clerk Office performs various functions of county business. The duties of the office range from Clerk to County Commission, title and registration, business tax, mineral severance tax, mail in renewals for license tags, notary applications, and collection of hotel tax. Unicoi County Clerk keeps official minutes and records activities of the County Commission and Beer Board.

The office renews driver licenses and gun permits, duplicate licenses, and Read IDs. No appointment is needed.
